Kalen and Mayla return to the Santiago estate and  believe the worst is behind them. Cal's generosity leaves Kalen with a secure future and he and Mayla look forward to their life together. But Kalen's dreams continue to haunt him and hint of the danger lurking just out of sight. Something so monstrous his waking mind refuses to comprehend it and to accept it will leave him doubting his own sanity. He turns to the prophecy, and comes to the conclusion that it cannot be ignored.  But as he delves deeper,  its meaning hints at things that make his blood run cold, including the loss of his new love.
   Cycles pass in peace
as the couple prepare of the wedding.  Then an attempt is made to kidnap Daniella, the oldest daughter of Zavier and Lilianna Santiago. While trying to put a reason to the attempt, Kalen is attacked by a member of the Santiago family, and Mayla must employ all her medical skills to save his life. He no sooner recovers from this, than he and Jamie, Mayla's youngest brother, foil an attempt to kidnap two women, only to discover that these are just two in a long string of disappearances planet wide.

Once again the elusive Maria Attwood and  the mysterious Jenna, are behind their troubles. Add a half brother bent on revenge and Kalen wishes he could take Mayla and disappear. Kalen and his friends must figure out Maria's motives before the Arrisians lose control of their world. Then the disappearance of Daniella forces Kalen, Mayla and their friends to scour the planet for her and answers.
